Cardboard and paper - Our everyday companions

420 million tons of paper and cardboard were produced worldwide in 2018 - 22 million tons were produced last year in Germany alone. This quantity puts Germany in first place in Europe, and fourth among the world's biggest paper-producing countries.*

There are many different types of paper. We know the majority of them as writing paper, tissue paper or brown paper. Consumption of the latter in particular is increasing due to the increasing amount of trading that is being carried out online.

The German paper industry

In Germany there are more than 160 mills in which paper is produced. The actual principle of paper-making has never changed: The fibres are spread, formed, pressed and dried. Machines were developed for this process during the course of industrialisation. These machines are divided into different sections in which the paper is led over rollers.

Our doctor blades and systems clean the rolls of the paper machines in a reliable and careful manner in order to guarantee consistently high quality of the end product.

The use of our doctor blades prevent deposits such as dust, dirt and other particles from leaving marks on the paper web which would lead a considerable loss of quality.

Clouth doctor blades

We manufacture all scraper blades on our very own production machines, which have been self-developed at a rate of more than 80%. This guarantees a high level of quality as well as perfect function.

We have the optimal blade for almost any application thanks to intensive research. Ideally, suitable Clouth doctor blade holders are also used. These provide an appropriate connection between our blades and the machines of our customers. Together they ensure that the production is optimised.
