Clouth Cleaning Systems, Advice and Service Directly on the Spot

Sven Keller is our man in Indonesia

<<Indonesia with its more than 17,000 islands offers a range of landscapes that one could ever desire: the ocean, lakes, mountains, beaches and forests>> Sven Keller enthuses about his new home country. <<The residents have a relaxed attitude and find please in life. Because of the tropical climate it is warm throughout the year.>>

For more than 21 years Sven Keller is working for the Clouth Group, now for almost 18 years in Indonesia. For Clouth, the subject of customer proximity is more than a  lip service, but it is lived actively thanks to colleagues like Sven Keller.

What brought him to Indonesia?

As a member of the sales team Sven Keller had been responsible for the Indonesian market. Because of the increasing necessity to travel to Asia and around the Asian continent, it was appropriate to serve the market directly on the spot. The many advantages of shorter travel times, less to no time differences and no jetlag, had been obvious. A careful previous planning over 1 ½ year preceded  the move. In October 2004 it became real: the move to Jakarta; however, since July 2014 Sven Keller now lives on Bali.

Bargaining, Traffic Jams and Jam Karet

<<Typically Indonesian are the spicy food as well as the many scooters and cars in the big cities!>> Sven Keller says. It is therefore not unusual that one sometimes has to wait two hours to finally meet one’s business partners.
<<Due to the traffic situation in the big cities one might  be stuck in a jam up to three hours, hence the term ‘Jam Karet’ is used – which can be translated with ‘rubber time’ meaning that time is ductile. Thus, patience is demanded. It is also a fact that in Indonesia – as in many Asian countries – people bargain in all their dealings>> he smilingly reports.

Image Made in Germany

Products from Germany – thus also the products made by the Clouth Group – are extremely high regarded. The image is very good! For the private sector one, as well, very often can find many high-priced products being explicitly promoted to be ‘Made in Germany“ or  with the message ‘German Technology’.

<<Maybe this the case as the former Indonesian President Habibi studied aerospace technology in Germany and kind of ‘promoted’ our country>> Sven Keller explains..

Paper Industry  in Indonesia?

Oh yes! This densely wooded archipelago offers excellent conditions for the paper industry which is of a very high importance in the Indonesian industry. Being in Indonesia for 18 years, Sven Keller knows the traditions and customs and the daily work routine and can offer competent advice and service to the customers on the spot.

In our next article we will return to Europe – to where exactly? We don’t want to give away that information yet, but please have fun sniffing in the Clouth:Ticker and find where we already have gone for a visit.

In the next post we will travel back to Europe - where exactly? To beautiful Austria. Be curious what our colleague can report there!
